We created the concept of Heroes & Guises after Creative England put out a call in collaboration with Creative Skills for Life for digital tools to help young people with life-limiting illnesses to become more creative.
We wanted a simple concept to help people get into creative writing in short bursts, more like writing text messages or posting to social networks. The finished idea creates tree-like collaborative stories that users can scroll through and read and then add to where they wish. They can also create stories and write solo stories by themselves, still using the tree format with options for each chapter.
The project received funding from Creative England and Creative Skills for Life have been supportive in developing the project. The University of Wolverhampton invested in the project and provided interns to design and develop the app, as well as creating an academic advisory board of health and creative writing staff.
The project is currently seeking further funding in order to complete the development required and begin to release to users that may benefit from the health perspective, as well as other general users wishing to become better writers
